Stamford Endowed School

School Profile: Comprised of Stamford Junior School (co-ed 2-11), Stamford High School (girls 11-16), Stamford School (boys 11-16) and the Sixth Form (co-ed 16-18), the Stamford Endowed Schools provide a first- class education to 1,600 day and boarding pupils. Our highly personalised boarding provision is spread across seven houses and received the ‘Outstanding’ rating in the last Ofsted Inspection. This is the highest grade achievable and a strong endorsement of the care given to the children in our charge. The Schools’ academic record is excellent and pupils are taught a wide-ranging curriculum in small class sizes. The separation of girls and boys in the GCSE years allows for better tailoring of teaching, but with boys and girls re- united for their Sixth Form studies as they prepare for university. The Schools strive to encourage pupils to make the most of opportunities beyond Stamford. They do this by providing a structured two-year Higher Education and Careers Programme to support Sixth Form students throughout their university application process. Guidance is given in a range of areas such as writing a personal statement, navigating the UCAS system, preparing for interviews, and choosing a course. After completing A-levels, over half of our leavers progress to Russell Group universities in the UK, studying a wide range of courses. Most importantly, we pride ourselves on being an environment in which learning is cherished and enjoyed. Located in the small, historic market town of Stamford, the Schools are easily reached by road and rail. London is just one hour away by train.
